METS INSULT OF THE DAY; CASEY STENGEL

As great as www.baseballquotations.com is for thousands of quotes, they don't have any on the only Met player born on December 29th, Emil Brown.

That means we go to the archives for a classic Mets insult. No one delivered more of them then the Old Professor, Casey Stengel. Casey, of course, is the legendary Hall of Fame Manager, most recognized for his years with the Yankees. He came out of retirement to manage the first few years of the Amazing Mets franchise.

He had better success with the Mets off the field than on the field. He had a lot of funny things to say. Today's Mets quote of the day is from Casey talking about the first year of the Mets.

"Our first game was April 10, 1962, and it was our best game. It was rained out."
