Have not been able to post the last few days so a belated Happy Birthday two days ago to The Captain, David Wright who turned 34 on December 20th.
The greatest third baseman in Mets history has played with the team since 2004. Over that period, he has been a seven time all-star, two time Gold Glove winner and two time Silver Slugger Award winner.
He has a career .296 batting average and he is the all-time Mets leader in many offensive categories including hits, rbi's, runs scored, doubles and extra base hits. He has been the heart and soul of the franchise for over a decade. That is why he is the Captain and will come back and have a great season in 2016.
Here is the David Wright belated birthday Quote of the Day,
"I wish I never had to pitch to that kid. As hard as it is to fathom, he doesn't have a weakness."
--John Smoltz, talking about David Wright
